YOUR ROLE
The Process Safety Management Engineer facilitates process safety risk management by supporting line management, shop floor, engineering, and maintenance staff to identify, analyze, evaluate, and drive resolutions regarding process safety, health, and environmental risks. This role is the primary driver for implementing the process safety engineering toolbox guidelines and corrective actions at Henkel’s Salisbury facility.
·Provides process safety expertise and guidance to personnel while ensuring key stakeholders are fully involved such that the resulting risk controls and programs are owned by the "end users."
·Carries out process safety internal audits and oversees corrective actions to drive continuous improvements regarding Process Safety within the facility. Follows up on required actions needed to resolve identified issues.
·Audit key elements of process safety to ensure processes are being followed and are working as intended.
·Works with personnel at all levels to continuously improve our processes related to Process Safety Management.
·Imparts training on Process Safety risk assessments, work-place risk assessments, job safety analysis throughout site.
·Be the plant subject matter expert (SME) on the PSM and all governing safety standards.
·Act as liaison between the Salisbury and Corporate PMS contacts. Provide updates on the plant’s PSM KPIs as required to communicate the plant’s progress and resource requirements.
·Works throughout the Henkel PSM network, and broader community, with peers and experts to benchmark and develop world class PSM programs at the Salisbury facility.
·Carry out incident investigations and apply root cause methodologies to identify the relevant preventative and corrective actions. Assures all necessary corrective action is completed in a timely manner.
·Review and update the plant’s PSM related documentation as required to ensure it is up to date and always audit ready.
·Is the key contact for all PSM related questions, audits, and compliance related matters.
