Applications Engineer Henkel Printed Electronics Division


Location:  Bridgewater, NJ (or field for highly experienced candidates)

Henkel is an industry-leading supplier of printed electronic materials and services. Our broad portfolio of functional ink formulations is ideal for the production of an extensive array of printed electronic products.  The available role is for an applications engineer within an excellent team and a growing technology!  

This role will be to lead the technically focused customer facing organization in North America.  This includes both internal and external engagements at Customers, Distributors and with all necessary functional groups globally.  

Roles and Responsibilities:


North American Lead for Technology Strategy:  
•North American representative for global technical network within the printed electronics incubator group: 
•Significant technical contributor to market and application initiatives.
•Direct and deploy cross functional team to execute technical strategy at customer, including product launches, complaint management, and new application development: (Sales, Key Account Management, Business Development, Product Development, Operations, Lab Technician, etc) 
•Lead technically driven PD and innovation projects for key portfolio gaps with KPI applications and markets
•Develop necessary of technical capability standards and methods for markets and applications new to Henkel.  
•Own North American sourced projects and direct appropriate global team for cross regional development and commercialization (ex:  and end use application designed and tested in the US, but will be produced in APAC, EU and South America)
Site Equipment Manager
•Manage and maintain laboratory equipment as well as all onsite safety protocols and procedures.  Is the go-to expert for running, training, and maintaining PE lab equipment.  
Deliver AIB and SBU based KSI Targets - NES, GP, ROS
•Provide direct Application Engineering (AE) support to proactively drive growth. 
•Identify and address unmet needs at Key Accounts and Regional/Inside Sales accounts with Sales
•Provide direct AE support to drive growth at new opportunities arising from Web site inquiries, cold calls, etc. via addressing unmet needs and providing the appropriate level of technical support.
•Participate in regular review of new development projects in pipeline, ensure timeliness of AE workstreams for related customer/market projects specifically in our key initiatives:  Smart Surfaces, Smart Healthcare, Antenna, Energy Storage
•Support Business Development and Marketing efforts to deliver financial targets 
People, Project, Market/Industry Management or Leadership
•Focus on supporting, coaching, and training (as needed) new customer facing applications team members and SBU resources 
•Develop industry impact/network (OEMs, Allied Partners, Associations, etc. )

YOUR SKILLS

•Up to 50% travel will be required, primarily domestically (in the US and Canada)
•High technical, mechanical and chemical aptitude
•Printing / coating experience preferred
•Experience with adhesives, functional inks, and functional coatings preferred

The salary for this role is $80,000- $130,000. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range.  This salary range may also be modified in the future.
